I watch George Floyd dragged to the ground, the police officer’s knee pressed against his neck, and I see his face as the life drains from him.
“I can’t breathe,” he says, repeatedly. “Please, I can’t breathe.”
And this grown man begins calling upon his dead mother, but of course she cannot save him.
“I can’t breathe.”
